What Makes Harry Potter So Great?
There are books about wizards, and books about boys, and books about school, magic, witches and more. But are any of these books as memorable as the Harry Potterseries? No? Why do you suppose that is?
For me, its the truly outstanding depth of character that Rowling creates for each major character and most minor characters as well. And truthfully, its also about Hermione's beaded bag that will hold just about anything- and similar gadgets and magical artifacts like it. (I really, really want one of those bags!!)
Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley are some of the most memorable characters that I've ever read about. Sure, there's a whole lot of memorable characters out there, but, off the top of my head, I have to admit I don't always remember their first and last names, their physical description (who can forget Harry's scar, Hermione's bushy hair or Ron's freckles?), or their character traits. Can you say differently? I'll bet you can't.
And, well, then there's the fact that Harry Potter has his own attraction in an amusement park: Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I don't know about you, but we NEED more book characters as memorable as Harry Potter. So, JK, please get back to writing...
